Managing Your Cables

When you imagine your dream system, you likely envision the components but not the many cables that connect them. Although you shouldn’t worry too much about cable management when you initially hook up your system, after you become comfortable with the arrangement of wires, you should make a point to organize them. A poorly-wired system can leave an immediate bad first impression on potential viewers, including family members, and it can wreak havoc on you when something goes wrong and you can’t figure out which cable goes where.

Many audio component racks and stands not only give you a good place to store and display your numerous home theater components, but they also have integrated cable management. Although the cable management differs for each, the goal is always the same: to organize the cables.
