Selecting the Right DVD Player

DVD players have quickly become a regular household item, but with prices ranging from $80 to over $2,000, selecting the right one is often difficult. This section helps identify the crucial features to look for when selecting the right DVD player. In addition, we help you get the correct DVD player to complement your television monitor.

The first decision is whether to buy a single-disc player or a multiple-disc carousel unit. Single-disc players are more common and also cheaper than a similarly-equipped multiple-disc unit. Multiple-disc units, boasting from 5 to over 300-disc capability, allow you to have access to many discs without having to physically change the disc out. For most budget home theaters, a single-disc unit is fine.
