Maintaining Battery Life

To get the most out of one charge of the iPod battery, install the latest iPod software (see “Updating Your iPod Firmware and Software” in this chapter), use the Hold switch to keep buttons inactive until you need them, and put your iPod to sleep whenever you’re not using it (see “Sleep Mode” in this chapter).

It also helps to keep the iPod at room temperature (generally near 20 °C, but you can use the iPod anywhere between 10 °C and 35 °C, or about 50 °F to 95 °F).
