Chapter 5.  Playing Information  >  Organizing Contacts

Organizing Contacts

You may be using a cell phone to keep phone numbers handy, but you can’t store all your other contact information that might be useful while traveling, such as email addresses and comments. The iPod can store up to a thousand contacts right alongside your music.

If you use an email program such as Mail with Address Book on the Macintosh or Microsoft Outlook on a Windows-based PC, you already have an address book, though it may have only names and email addresses in it at this time. You can add more information to each person’s “card” in either Address Book (Mac) or Microsoft Outlook (Windows). If you use some other email program, chances are your email addresses are already stored in the appropriate “vCard” format or your email program lets you export them as vCards, which work on your iPod.
