GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEMS

TomTom Go 700

There are lots of different in-car GPS navigation systems available, but I find the TomTom Go 700 to be my favorite. It's a little smoother and sleeker than the competition, and offers a few more features—which is why it earns my Leo's Pick designation.

Let's look at the features first. The unit is pretty much all screen, and that screen is an extra-sharp 3.5'' touch screen LCD with 320 × 240 pixel resolution. The internal 2.5GB hard drive is large enough to store (and is preloaded with) maps for the entire United States and Canada, as well as millions of points of interest. You can get your directions onscreen or via voice command, in your choice of 30 different languages (and 50 different voices!). Operation is via the touch screen display—there are no buttons or knobs to deal with. There's also no external antenna, as the TomTom Go includes a built-in GPS antenna.
