Troubleshooting Problems with Secure Websites

If you can browse the Web, but can't connect to secure websites such as online stores, e-banking, or stock trading sites, you are probably using a browser with incorrectly configured security settings.

Security in online transactions is based on the strength of the encryption used to scramble data in transit between your browser and the secured website. Encryption strength is commonly expressed in bits: the higher the bits, the greater the number of possible combinations of information that can be used to encrypt the data, and the greater the security. All current browsers, including Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape 6.x or greater, and Opera version 3.5 or greater, support 128-bit encryption as standard in most world areas, enabling your web browser to connect to secure sites.
