Troubleshooting Processor Failures

Adding more memory makes your computer run faster, but if your processor (CPU) isn't working, nothing will be happening until you replace it. The major reasons for processor failure include the following:

  • Overheating

  • Power surges

  • Heatsink failure

  • Heatsink detached from the processor

  • Incorrect heatsink installation

  • Wrong heatsink for the processor

  • Incorrect insertion into the motherboard
