Summary

In this chapter, we discussed the basics of adding new software—from finding what you need to downloading and installing it. Although we focused on easy-to-obtain, downloadable software, the issues we discussed also apply to purchased software discs. (Remember that, in Mac OS X, it matters where you place new applications on your system—try to use the Applications folder for its intended purpose.) We ended the chapter with a look at hard drive and RAM space and how to determine how much of each is available.
