Chapter 5. Windows Explorer Annoyances > A THUMBNAIL VIEW FOR FILE ATTACHMENTS

A THUMBNAIL VIEW FOR FILE ATTACHMENTS

The Annoyance:

I'm trying to attach an image—a JPG, actually—to an email. When I open the dialog, I'm faced with a lengthy list of obscure filenames. Sorting through the stack and trying to figure out what the image is by filename is nonsense. Why can't I see the image itself?

The Fix:

This is so simple, you're going to laugh. (I did because it was something that had flummoxed me, too.) When you open the dialog, just switch the view from whatever it is currently—probably Details or Icons—to Thumbnails (see Figure 5-16).
