Attach a file

Sometimes you want to send someone a photo you took or a text file that you created in your word processor. You can send it as an attachment, but keep in mind that not everyone can read your attachments. To be able to read a file someone else sends, the other person must have a program that can open that particular type of file.

Sending photographs is pretty easy—digital cameras always create the photographs in the file format called “JPEG,” with the three letter extension at the end of “.jpg.” Just about anyone should be able to open a JPEG (pronounced jay peg).
