Chapter 5. Contacts > Using Quick Connect

Using Quick Connect

Palm handhelds no longer exist alone—they can communicate with the outside world with the help of Quick Connect. Depending on the capabilities of your device, you can dial a phone number; send an email, fax, or instant message; or locate an address on a GPS-assisted map.

To use Quick Connect

1.
Tap a Contacts record.

2.
Choose Connect from the Record menu, write -I, or tap the Quick Connect icon at the top of the screen (Figure 5.27).

Figure 5.27. If your device supports Quick Connect, an icon appears at the top of the Contacts list window.

3.
Tap a number in the Quick Connect list to activate it (Figure 5.28). Only supported actions appear (for example, an email address won't show up if you have no compatible email software installed).
