Chapter 4. Calendar > Entering Treo Calendar Events

Entering Treo Calendar Events

Since Treo's Calendar can display more than just appointments, it adds an easy method of entering new records. Yes, you can choose their commands from the Record menu, write their Graffiti shortcut strokes, or start typing on the keypad, but there's a much easier way.

To enter a new event (the easy way)

1.
With no records selected, tap the New button; a popup menu appears, listing the types of records available (Figure 4.64).

Figure 4.64. The easy way to create new records in Treo's Calendar is to select from the menu that appears when you tap the New button.

2.
Choose Appointment, Floating Event, To Do, Daily Journal, or Template. A new untimed record appears (or in the case of the journal, a new note screen appears with a time stamp).

3.
Fill in the record's title and other pertinent information as you normally would.

To duplicate an event

1.
Select an existing record in the Day view.

2.
Choose Duplicate Item from the Record menu, or press Menu-Y.

3.
Change the new item's settings in the Details screen, then tap OK to return to the Day view.
