Chapter 4. Calendar > Purging Old Events

Purging Old Events

Although the Palm OS has been written to accommodate very small file sizes, there comes a point at which the volume of past events begins to eat into your available memory. Will you have to shoulder the weight of the past forever? Luckily, you don't have to.

Calendar gives you the option to permanently delete older records from your device, while still maintaining an archive of the past on your PC.

To purge old events

1.
From the Day view, choose Purge from the Record menu, or write -E in the Graffiti area (Figure 4.52). The Purge dialog box appears.

2.
Choose the time frame of records that will be purged by selecting an item on the Delete events older than popup menu. You can select 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 3 Weeks, or 1 Month (Figure 4.53).

3.
If you want to maintain a copy of the purged records on your PC, be sure the checkbox next to Save archive copy on PC is marked; otherwise, uncheck the box. Tap OK.
