Chapter 7. Calculator, Expense, and Clock > Expense in Palm Desktop

Expense in Palm Desktop

In previous versions, clicking the Expense button in Palm Desktop began a complex tango with Microsoft Excel, where macros formatted the data into a spreadsheet. Happily, Palm Desktop 4.1 provides Expense as its own built-in application, though you can still export to Excel for serious number crunching.

Unfortunately, this still only applies to Palm Desktop for Windows, as there is no built-in support for Expense in Palm Desktop for Macintosh. However, see Chapter 14 for alternatives to Expense, which include some Mac-based solutions.
