Where to Visit (AD)

Now that you know what the Web is and how to access it, the next question is where to go—what sites to visit.

When the Web first became popular, and most big companies (and even the little ones) started building their own Web sites, these sites were often known as “brochureware” because they consisted of little more than an electronic pamphlet, or brochure. In the past few years, many of these companies have moved to add more content to their sites. Content is the word most people use to refer to the meat of a Web site—the stuff that keeps you coming back.
