Chapter 11. Make an iMovie

Some iMacs come with the software iMovie that allows you to view your digital movies on the computer and then edit, cut, rearrange, add sound, make transitions, add titles and credits, and more. It's amazingly easy to do and can actually create professional quality clips. You can save the movie back out to a blank digital tape, then transfer it to other media, if you like. You can also save your creation as something called a QuickTime movie that you can post on a web site or send as an attachment through email. You can even attach QuickTime movies to some word processing or page layout documents, and then others can watch them on their computers.

If you have a collection of non-digital movies, you can buy an adapter (see page 159) and bring them into iMovie to edit.
