Chapter 19. Sherlock 2 > Delete the index

Delete the index

In the "Index Volumes" dialog box (shown below), you'll notice a column labeled "Size." This is the size of the database that Sherlock 2 has made. As you create and install more and more files, this database can become huge, which means it uses a large chunk of your hard disk to store the index. You can't throw this file away because it's invisible (which means you can't even find it), but you can use Sherlock 2 to delete it.

  1. When Sherlock 2 is open, go to the Find menu and choose "Index Volumes…."

  2. Click once on the name of the disk to select it, then click the "Delete Index…" button.
