The mouse

The first thing you need to become comfortable with is the mouse. You can plug it into either end of the keyboard, depending on whether you're right- or left-handed. It doesn't have to sit next to the keyboard—you can put it anywhere you can reach it easily. The mouse sits flat on the tabletop. The tail, I mean the cord, faces away from you. (I have met people who prefer to use the mouse "upside down," with the tail facing toward them. If using the mouse the standard way makes you crazy, try using it upside down. Just make sure the flat part sits flat on the table.)
