Chapter 17. Make a Web Site > Make a folder and put some graphics in it

Make a folder and put some graphics in it

The first step in building a web site is to make a folder in which you will store all of the graphics and pages for your site. When you're done, you'll send this entire folder to a special computer called a server so the world can see it. (If you have a permanent sort of Internet connection, such as dsl, isdn, cable, or t1 line, you can actually serve the site from your own computer, with security reservations. Check the Help file in the menu bar for directions on using "Personal Web Share," or see The Little Mac Book.)

Keeping all of the files you need for the web site stored in one folder ensures that your graphics will actually appear on your page when it gets to the web. So for this first step, you are going to make a folder and put certain graphics inside of it before you begin to make the actual web page.
