Chapter 9. Fax a Note to Someone > Make a phonebook of fax numbers

Make a phonebook of fax numbers

Make a phonebook of fax numbers for all the people you might want to send a fax to. Then when you're ready to send, you can just drag one or more numbers into the "Destinations" box and off they go.

  1. If you don't have the Fax Browser already on your screen, double-click the Fax Browser icon (see page 138). If you double-click that and still don't see anything, press Command B, or from the Windows menu at the top of the screen, choose "Show Browser."

  2. In that row of buttons in the upper-left of the Fax Browser window, click the "Phonebook" button on the far left.

  3. Once you click the Phonebook button, you'll get the "Fax Numbers" window shown below.

    1. The button on the left probably says "Unlock Phonebook." Click it once. (Then the button will change to "Lock Phonebook.")

    2. Click the button labeled "New Contact." This puts a flashing insertion point at the bottom of the window. Just start typing your data (as soon as you start typing, the data will probably jump up to the first line—that's okay). Press the Tab key to get from one column to the next.

  4. All of the numbers you add to your phonebook will appear in the "FaxPrint" dialog box. Drag a contact name from the left box to the right box, then send.

Drag a name from the left side to the right side. To send the same fax to more than one person, drag more than one name.
