Project: Writing Music

Write a song that uses all the available musical effects and then play it back at different speeds and in different keys. Save the song and email it to a friend.

✓ Compose your own music now by following these steps:

1.
Select Start, All Programs, Sonic Foundry, Super Duper Music Looper XPress, Super Duper Music Looper XPress. The window shown in Figure 11.11 appears.

Click any of the icons to the left to hear a sample of that musical effect.

To add an effect to your music loop, click and drag the blue area under the numbers 1 through 120 along the top. You can click a single band or drag to have that music effect play for a longer period of time.

4.
Continue painting other music effects. If you add something you don't want, click Erase and drag over it to erase it. Click Paint to paint more sounds.

5.
When you've finished adding musical effects, click Play to hear what you've composed; your finished song might look something like the one shown in Figure 11.12.
