Chapter 7. 35-mm Slide Projector > Setting Up the Room

Setting Up the Room

Arrive early. Set up the projector so you get the largest possible image. If you have both horizontal and vertical slides, make sure they both fit onto the screen. The best possible set-up puts the projector far enough from the screen that the image fills the entire screen and high enough that it projects above the heads of your audience without interfering with anyone’s view.

You will be most effective standing in front of your audience, connected to the projector by a remote control. The best equipment includes a wireless remote. If one is not available, make sure you have enough extensions to connect you at the front of the room to your projector in its ideal location. You can stand to the side of the projected image and continue facing the audience.
