Designing Slides

  • Decide if your slides will be horizontal or vertical and then stick with one format throughout the presentation.

  • Design your slides for the back row.

  • When you use photographs of people, plan to depict a pluralistic workforce (a representative mixture of sexes, ethnicities, ages, disabilities).

  • The space between lines of type should be at least the height of a capital letter.

  • Number or label all slides so they can be easily reorganized.

  • Once a set of slides is arranged properly in a slide tray, mark the upper right hand corner of each slide with a red pen. Then you will never have to worry about putting a slide in backwards or upside down because all of the red corners go together.
