Grouping Objects

From time to time you create something on your InDesign page and think, “Wow, I could use that somewhere else.” If it's a single element, it's easy to move or copy that item and paste it on another page or in another document. But if it's several items that you want to stay together, you might want to group them to keep them intact. Follow these steps to group multiple objects:

1.
Select all the items you want to stay together. Hold down the Shift key while you click to select more than one item at a time.

2.
After all the items are selected, choose Object, Group.

3.
All the different selection points you saw in step 1 disappear. A dotted line with eight selection points now appears to show the boundaries of the entire grouped object (see Figure 26.14).
