The Help Menu

Photoshop is no slouch when it comes to having plenty of available resources. The Help menu contains links to the Adobe Help Center, tutorials, plug-in information, and much more. There are also options for connecting with Adobe online for registration and updates.

  • Photoshop Help: Photoshop Help launches the Creative Suite 2 Help Center. Find your answers quickly using the keyword search. Or access other Adobe CS2 applications from the pop-up menu in the Help Center.

  • Export Transparent Image: Use this wizard after you make a selection in an image to create a background transparency.

  • Resize Image: The Resize Image wizard helps you quickly change the size and resolution for your chosen print or online output.

  • Registration: If you haven't registered your Creative Suite online, do it as soon as possible. This is helpful if you misplace your serial number or want to access some support options. Registration comes with a free gift from Adobe.

  • Activate, Transfer Activation: If you are still using a 30-day trial version of CS2 and you have a valid serial number, you can activate it through this menu. When the program is already activated, this option is grayed out. If you change computers or need to alternate computers while you use CS2, use the Transfer Activation command so that your other computer can be activated to use the software.

  • Updates: Check for software updates and set your update preferences for manual and automatic downloading and update install.

  • Photoshop Online: Go to the main Photoshop page on the Adobe.com website. From there, you can find links to new stuff, movies, stories, and links to more and more links. Don't get lost out there, it's a big website.

  • How To's: The How To options are shortcuts to popular Photoshop Help topics from within the Adobe Help Center. It's a great way to learn some of the complicated tasks that Photoshop CS2 can handle. You can even create your own instructional pages and add them to the list.
