Mastering the Program

As with any software application, the quickest way to master InDesign is to use it regularly, if not daily. If you're in a situation where you are used to using another page layout program, but you've upgraded to InDesign, stay strong. Don't backslide; use InDesign to create all documents from this point forward.

If you're new to page layout software in general—perhaps you only used office-type software in the past—again, force yourself to use InDesign. Even if you're just writing a letter, write it in InDesign. It may feel inconvenient and clunky, but it helps you get used to working in the program. Plus, think of how impressed everyone will be if you start using transparency in your correspondence!
