Introduction

In addition to inserting graphics and multimedia, you can also create and insert drawings, AutoShapes, and WordArt to enhance your Web pages. With Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, you can choose from a set of pre-designed shapes, or you can use tools that allow you to draw and edit your own shapes and forms. FrontPage's drawing tools control how you place objects on your Web page in relation to one another. If you choose to combine objects, you can create sophisticated effects.

When you create drawings, AutoShapes, and WordArt objects in FrontPage, the program stores the elements as a collection of lines, curves, and other shapes instead of a picture. This format is called VML, which stores the information in XML format. Since not all browsers support VML, FrontPage provides an option on the Page Options dialog box to save GIF versions of every drawing, AutoShape, and WordArt object you create to avoid problems.
