Chapter 11. Using Code in FrontPage > Using the Code view

Using the Code view

Up to now, you've worked almost exclusively in the very friendly environment of FrontPage's Design view, where what you create is what you see in Preview Page view. Yet you should find that Code view provides a fairly easy work environment as well.

Look at Figure 11.1 and you'll see a working window that looks a lot like a simple text editor. By default, when you create a new page—even a blank one—FrontPage automatically inserts a certain amount of basic HTML to start you off. This automatic insertion is composed of the essential HTML needed for a basic Web page you learned about in Chapter 23 (found on the web), including <HTML></HTML>, <HEAD></HEAD>, and <BODY></BODY> tags.
