Chapter 19. Testing Your Web > Checking Your Links

Checking Your Links

It's always frustrating to find exactly what you're looking for on a Web site, only to discover that the link is no longer working. A good Web developer is someone who cares enough to ensure that all his or her links work. You not only need to be sure that links within your site go to the right place, but also links that lead to other sites.

With the rate at which Web sites are born and die, a link can become defunct before you've finished adding it to your page. Because of this, you need to check them regularly even after your site is live to make sure nothing's changed.
