Understanding Behaviors

Behaviors are one of the biggest enhancements made to FrontPage 2003 over previous versions, and they go a long way toward making scripting easy to use for beginners and experts alike. Behaviors are a simple way to manage event handlers for objects. They automatically generate the client-side scripts and event-handler attributes for the elements that you add them to.

Behaviors consist of two parts: an event and an action. As we've already discussed, an event is something that occurs as a result of a browser or a user action. The action refers to the type of script that is called in response to the event.
