Chapter 14. Scripting and DHTML > Adding Interactive Buttons

Adding Interactive Buttons

In the past, creating rollover buttons (images that change when the mouse pointer moves over them) was often a chore that had to be done by hand. FrontPage 2003, however, gives you not just one, but two ways to easily make rollover buttons in your pages. The first way is through the use of behaviors, and there will be more on this subject later in this chapter. However, the easiest way to add rollover buttons to a page is to use FrontPage's Interactive Buttons feature.

The great thing about the Interactive Buttons feature is that it gives you the ability to implement nice-looking (if a bit generic) rollover buttons using a variety of simple preselected images, without having to use a separate graphics program to create the button images. FrontPage allows you to tweak the font, colors, margins, and other aspects of the images to get just the effect that you want.
