Chapter 21. Putting Pages on the Internet > Getting Ready to Publish

Getting Ready to Publish

Before you begin publishing your Web site, you should complete any housekeeping tasks outstanding on the site. This may sound like the equivalent of being told by your mother to go clean your room. If you don't get your site's house in order before uploading, however, the whole world will see your dirty socks. After your site is live is the wrong time to discover that your hyperlinks don't work, your graphics have vanished, or that the navigation buttons send your visitors to the outer reaches of cyberspace. So before publishing your site, be sure to test and review your pages thoroughly.

To learn more about testing your site and preparing for publishing it, see Chapter 19, “Testing Your Web.”
