Chapter 22. Maintaining a Published Web > Creating and Deleting Folders

Creating and Deleting Folders

On your PC, every new Web you create is contained within a different folder, just as your individual applications usually install to separate folders, and your My Documents folder usually contains word-processing and other work-type files you create. The folder containing your Web is stored within a master folder, called the root or root Web, which holds all the Webs (often, this is the My Webs folder under My Documents). Any folders contained within an individual Web (such as the images folder) are actually subfolders because they're contained within a main folder holding that Web.

One of the jobs you may face when maintaining your site involves creating new (sub)folders in or removing existing (sub)folders from your FrontPage Web. Creating a new (sub)folder is wise when you begin to amass a number of files in your main or root folder and want to organize them into collections. The need to delete a (sub)folder may arise because you simply don't want or need a particular folder any longer.
