Chapter 2. Creating Sites and Pages > Setting Page Options

Setting Page Options

Once you've planned your site and created the shell in FrontPage, you're almost ready to start developing it. Before you take off at a run, though, there are still a few things to consider. For one, it's difficult to anticipate what your visitors will have technologywise. Internet Explorer is the most popular browser, but there's still a core group of Netscape users, a handful of Opera aficionados, and a growing number of Mac users with Safari.

Most of the current versions of browsers can handle almost anything you can throw at them in FrontPage, but older browsers may not be able to interpret scripting languages or cascading style sheets (CSS). Cascading style sheets enable you to control the design of your page from a master list of fonts, colors, positioning settings, and so on. To learn more about CSS, see Chapter 13, “Using Styles and Cascading Style Sheets.”
