Chapter 25. Using Layers > Front and Center: Building Nested Menu Systems

Front and Center: Building Nested Menu Systems

The dynamic page you created in this chapter demonstrated the power behind layers in FrontPage when combined with other features. However, the menu system you built is not as powerful as it could be. Most menu systems are nested instead of being single layer. The Layers task pane and Behaviors feature of FrontPage will allow you to create a nested menu feature with little additional effort.

1.
Create a new layer and change the ID to Nested.

2.
Add two Interactive Buttons to the new layer. Use Nested 1 for the text on one button and Nested 2 for the text on the other.

3.
Resize the layer so that it is the same size as the two Interactive Buttons.

4.
Position the new layer next to the Software button, as shown in Figure 25.10.

Figure 25.10. Adding a nested submenu is easy with Layers and Behaviors.
