Alternatives to Frames

There is no arguing that frames provide easy menu options and a quick way to develop a multipage Web site with an easy to understand navigational structure. A similar effect can be accomplished a number of other ways, and FrontPage makes it considerably easy to do so:

  • Use a FrontPage Link bar to provide navigation through your site. You can easily add the link bar to every page of content and then, as you update the options on the link bar, allow FrontPage to update the rest of the site accordingly.

  • Use an Included Page to provide a navigational element. As you want to introduce new navigational options to your site, you can update the included file when needed and have the site navigational element update accordingly.

  • Use a Shared Border option to provide a navigational element. As with the first two options, an update of the Shared Frame will update the site navigation as needed.
