Chapter 20. Dynamic Web Templates > An Overview of Dynamic Web Templates

An Overview of Dynamic Web Templates

When you're designing a Web site, it's important to maintain a consistent look and feel. FrontPage developers have often used shared borders for page elements that are shared between multiple pages, and although shared borders do allow you to share content between pages, they introduce some limitations that make your design less flexible. If you decide that some pages need a different layout or different shared content, you have to create a new subsite to contain those pages. If you have several developers working on a site, it's possible for someone else to change the content in your shared border. Shared borders also limit your design because they have to be placed on the top, left, right, or bottom of a page. You can't have shared formatting anywhere you want it.
