Lesson 13. Working with Tables > Changing the Way the Table Looks

Changing the Way the Table Looks

You also have control over the way the table looks, such as the color and width of the table's borders and background and the alignment of the table on the page. Formatting and alignment of a table are controlled in the Table Properties dialog box. However, the look of the table (border and background color) might also be affected by the theme that is currently selected for the page on which the table resides. The theme supplies the default background and border color for the table.

You can change the background color and border width for a table that has been assigned a theme; however, the border color cannot be changed and remains the theme default. The only way to override the theme color is to remove the theme from the page (for more about themes, see Lesson 11, "Using FrontPage Themes").
