Lesson 13. Working with Tables > Using Tables on Web Pages

Using Tables on Web Pages

Organizing information on your Web pages so that it's easy to read is a real necessity. One way to group information on a Web page is to use a table. If you have ever worked in a ledger book or used Excel to create a worksheet, you are familiar with the overall look and feel of a table.

Tables provide an excellent way to group numerical information in columns and rows (even displaying a total that summarizes a row or column of information), or tables can be used as layout grids to help you align elements, such as text or graphics, on pages. So although you might typically think of tables as containing numerical data only, you can actually use tables as a nice design feature on your Web pages.
