Understanding DHTML

We have already discussed a number of possibilities for adding interest to your Web pages, such as images, sounds, videos, and FrontPage components. Another way to make your Web pages more exciting is the use of Dynamic HTML (DHTML) effects.

DHTML is a Microsoft enhancement to HTML that allows you to animate text and other objects on your Web pages and add page transitions such as vertical blinds and wipes (we will discuss the various page transition types in a moment). DHTML can be used to emphasize information on a page (using a particular effect) or just to make your pages seem a little more "high-tech."
