Lesson 7. Adding Sounds and Video to Web... > Inserting Video Files onto a Web Pag...

Inserting Video Files onto a Web Page

Another way to add interest to a Web page, and supply information in an alternative format, is to insert a video file onto a Web page. FrontPage provides a number of animated video clips that you can add to your Web pages (just as you add any clip art). However, you may also want to add video content that shows how a particular product that you sell works, or video that you shoot yourself, such as video clips from that fantastic beach vacation you just took in the islands.

Video files come in a number of different formats, such as .avi (the Windows default video format), .mpg, and .mov. Windows Media Player (typically the default video player for Windows-based computers) plays a number of different file formats. You should test your video file for playback before you use it on your Web page.
