Design Corner: Keeping Track of FrontPage Instances

When using FrontPage 2002 for the first few times, you might find that keeping track of the number of FrontPage instances that are open is difficult. An instance is a separate running of the program. If you used earlier versions of FrontPage, you'll remember that you had only one FrontPage instance open. Now, each instance appears as a separate document on the Start bar at the bottom of the screen, and also through the Alt+Tab method of switching from program to program.

Actually, this isn't new only to FrontPage; Microsoft has made it a standard for all of Office XP. Each Word document, for example, opens as a separate Word instance, and each appears in the Start bar. One obvious problem is that if you have three Word documents, a couple of Excel documents, three Outlook messages, and four FrontPage documents open, your Start bar suddenly looks very, very busy.
