Design Corner: Consistency in Appearance and Navigation

One way of identifying a professional-quality Web site is the consistency of its navigational tools. Using FrontPage's link bars—especially in combination with the graphical enhancements of themes—enables you to achieve a uniform appearance across your web. Even if you elect not to use link bars, you should study their layout and design for useful tips on constructing your own navigational tools.

Similarly, shared borders easily give your site a consistent look. Remember that, after you design the borders for a page, those borders are available to all the pages in the current web. If you want a custom look repeated across all the web's pages, you must design the borders only once; they automatically are applied to each new page you create, as well as to all existing pages.
