Outlook 2002

Outlook 2002 includes many improvements, but most have little to do either with web capabilities or with FrontPage. Obviously, however, they have a great deal to do with the Internet because the program is primarily an e-mail client. You can now send and receive Hotmail messages directly from Outlook, and you can access hyperlinks directly from the subject line of the message. MSN Messenger is directly integrated into Outlook, and it guards against viruses and other incoming access possibilities, such as programs that attempt to send e-mail on your behalf (the Melissa virus, for example).

In addition, the reminders system has been dramatically improved, with a single notification box appearing to display each reminder on a single line—no more cluttering the screen with endless yellow "sticky notes" and then attending to them. Finally, Outlook 2002 finally integrates the two modes of e-mail, Internet Mail and Corporate/Workgroup Mail, letting you create several e-mail accounts in one place for a variety of connection types.
