Understanding Object Details

The previous sections acquainted you with the fundamentals of properties, methods, and events for JavaScript. This section investigates some specific attributes of the standard Web browser objects. Certain objects contain their own properties and methods. The sections that follow present each object is, followed by specific properties, methods, and events with appropriate descriptions of each.

A large number of properties, methods, and events are associated with each object, and covering each would clearly extend beyond the focus of this chapter. The object model becomes increasingly more complex when you begin considering the entire Dynamic HTML model. This chapter is an introduction to JavaScript and the basic document object model. For more information on JavaScript and document object components, visit the Netscape developer Web site, http://developer.netscape.com/docs/manuals/js/client/jsref.
