Understanding Hyperlinks

Hyperlink generally refers to the highlighted words (or specially defined images) that you click on a Web page to access a different resource on the Web or Internet. Tucked away behind this highlighted text or image is a string of HTML code that gives your browser the URL for the new location and directs the browser to jump to that location. FrontPage generates this code automatically when you tell it to set up a hyperlink.

Note

URL is an acronym for Universal Resource Locator, which is a complicated way of saying "Web address."
