A Table Layout Gives Unsightly Results

A table layout was used to organize the content of a page, but the appearance is displeasing.

Because the prepared FrontPage templates are based on tables, the main difficulty in using them is likely to be fitting the page elements into the table cells, so that the overall look is balanced. For example, a template with scattered whitespace all over it is the result of having cells whose contained elements vary widely in size and might look disorganized and fragmented (see Figure 7.7). If possible, bring the element sizes closer together so that the unity of the page, as visible onscreen, is preserved.
