Chapter 16. Administering a Web > Web Site Management

Web Site Management

FrontPage 2002 not only helps you create, design, and configure a Web site, it also helps you manage it. Managing sites gets very little of the recognition accorded the Web industry, but it's the part that actually takes the majority of the time. After a Web is in place, it remains of interest to users only if it is frequently updated, with new information and new reasons for visiting constantly being built in. Your job as Web manager is to ensure that everything gets done, and that the new and replacement elements are placed in the web so they work right from the start.

▸ The SharePoint feature of Microsoft Office offers additional user management tools for collaborative environments. For a full discussion of these tools, see "SharePoint Team Services," and "Establishing a Collaborative Authoring Environment,"
