Chapter 26. Using Scripts in Your Web Page > Creating Scripts with FrontPage

Creating Scripts with FrontPage

As already stated, keeping track of the objects availabel for Web page development and their possible properties, methods, and events can be a daunting task. Fortunately, Microsoft has made the process of writing scripts for Web pages easier with FrontPage 2000. There is a macro script-writing tool included with FrontPage 2000. Additional features include the capability to browse the objects availabel within the page of the Web browser and invoke methods on those objects, set properties for those objects, and create JavaScript routines to handle events fired by those objects.

A Quick Script Editor Tour

To invoke the script editor within FrontPage, you can choose the editor from the FrontPage menus. It exists under the Tools, Macro submenu and is labeled Microsoft Script Editor. Once you have invoked it, you should see a screen similar to the one in Figure 26.2. Quickly review the primary windows used within the Script Editor.
