Adding an ActiveX Control in FrontPage

Microsoft provides a set of ActiveX controls with FrontPage. Unfortunately, it no longer hosts its ActiveX Gallery, which used to give parameter details for its proprietary ActiveX controls, and the parameter specifications for the included controls were not available at the time of writing. Microsoft has lately shown less interest in encouraging ActiveX development, apparently preferring to direct most of its energies toward developing DHTML tools. However, ActiveX has capabilities that are very useful in a controlled environment such as an intranet, so the technology will continue to be used.

If you want to experiment with a control or two, start by choosing Insert, Advanced, ActiveX Control. The Insert ActiveX Control dialog box appears (see Figure 28.10). Then do the following:
